The second information session of the series in this academic year was dedicated to symbols of extremist and terrorist associations banned in Russia.

Roman Shilishpanov, the expert on prevention of extremism and terrorism ideology dissemination, an Associate Professor of the Department of Theology at Sociology and Theology Faculty, explained the differences between the laws of different countries to the international students.

Roman Shilishpanov told about the consequences entailed by the banned symbols spreading and demonstration, and emphasized that the lack of a person’s awareness of such issues does not reduce the degree of his responsibility for the offense, and does not exempt from punishment.

The question of illegal missionary activity by different religious organisations on the territory of the Russian Federation was also covered.

The topic provoked a lively discussion among the international students. The event organisers answered all the students’ questions and explained the nuances of the Russian legislation.
