The final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad “I Am a Professional” in the field of Special (Defectological) èƵ took place at the Institute of Psychology and Comprehensive Rehabilitation of the Moscow State Pedagogical University.
Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) was proudly represented by Maria Zhiraukhova and Daria Rubanova, both students from the Faculty of Preschool, Primary and Special èƵ, specialising in Special (Defectological) èƵ. Before reaching the finals, the contestants navigated through several rigorous stages. The qualifying round involved testing, while the semi-finals required participants to tackle professional case studies. Out of 2,300 initial competitors, only 140 of the top undergraduate and graduate students from various universities across the country advanced to the final.
The tasks in the final stage of the Olympiad were grounded in real-life scenarios, closely mirroring the responsibilities of speech therapists. Maria Zhiraukhova delivered a masterclass on her innovative practice-oriented development titled “Game Technologies in Correctional and Developmental Work with Children with Disabilities.” Meanwhile, Daria Rubanova showcased her independent creative research project, presenting her unique technology “Let's Start Talking Together,” which offers a step-by-step guide for parents of non-speaking children.
