The forum, which brought together the leading scientists and experts from different regions of Russia and abroad, as well as the representatives of ten world-class science and education centres, became an effective platform for discussing issues of scientific and technological development in Russia. Belgorod State University, as the base site of the World-Class REC “Innovative Solutions in Agri-Business” was represented by Alexey Deykin, the Director of BelSU Joint Centre for Genetic Technologies.

The developments of Belgorod REC scientists attracted attention of the government delegation, including Dmitry Chernyshenko, the Deputy Prime Minister, Valery Falkov, the Minister of Science and Higher ��è��Ƶ, Andrey Travnikov, the Governor of Novosibirsk region.

As Alexey Deykin noted, the business program of the forum provided an opportunity to meet with the management of Kurchatov Institute, Vektor State Research Center of Rospotrebnadzor and the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Agreements were reached on joint development and testing of high-tech drugs (Ed. Note: drugs for humans based on genes or cells) and creation of animal models of human diseases, as well as formation of joint bioresource collections.
