The Research Institute of Living Systems Pharmacology of Belgorod State University is successfully mastering new technologies of express diagnostics. Testing systems for early cattle pregnancy diagnosis have produced for several years already. A range of diagnostics kits is being developed for the needs of agricultural sector in the region. The innovative product for express diagnostics of viral and bacteriological infections has been developed as a result of the new project included in the “Priority 2030” programme.

According to Professor Mikhail Pokrovsky, the Director of the Research Institute of Living Systems Pharmacology, the reality of contemporary life has confirmed the importance of research in the field of express diagnostics. The coronavirus pandemic exposed the problem faced by mankind: human life is dependent on early disease diagnosis and proper treatment.

The team at the Research Institute of Pharmacology has already advanced far enough in development of the product. At the moment they are actively searching for partners for the synthesis of monoclonal antibodies – the main component of the testing system. The synthesis will be carried out at Belgorod State University availing a pilot production site. The potential industrial partners have already expressed interest in the product development, besides the successful implementation has been anticipated in the context of the pandemic challenges.
