Belgorod State University's Centre for Civil Society and Patriotism was the venue for a special celebration. To mark the 65th anniversary of the founding of Belgorod Region, the University had planned to do 65 voluntary projects to help the community...
Staff and students packed the hall, admiring the exhibits. The main attraction was the book, later to be presented to the city, that documents all the work done throughout the year. The Centre also arranged a mini library with books covering the history of our Region. Then guests sat down to a film about our Region made by the Centre. The presenters, Yulia Chemerichina and Dmitry Srybny, then gave a presentation on the '65 Good Deeds' project, and about the book, prepared with the help of the Public Relations and Media Department, which contains details on events that took place across the Region involving science, local history, volunteering, culture, creativity and sport. Dr Svetlana Ostrikova, Vice-Rector for èƵ and Youth, summed up the project, and the University's central role, saying,
“In honour of the anniversary of Belgorod Region, more than 140 events have been held at the university, and we are not going to stop there. Our volunteer initiatives, our 'good deeds', will continue throughout 2019. I would like to thank everyone involved for making sure that the university has played such a large part in the celebrations.”
She rounded the evening off, by handing out certificates to those who had played a special role in the project.
