Professor Dr Tatiana Pavlova presented an overview of the work being done at international, federal and regional level to prevent cancer in new mothers and children. This is a specialist area of research for BNRU's Medical Institute, and the subject of the paper that she delivered to Congress entitled 'The Development of Pathology in Belgorod Region', which she co-authored with Professor Dr Vladimir Kulikovsky. This will be included in the published work for the Congress, which is widely read in medical circles.

Professor Pavlova has been a member of the European Society of Pathologists for over twenty years, and this year marks her 8^th year of reporting to the Congress, where her work is held in high esteem.
