The opening ceremony of the fourth International scientific and practical Conference 鈥淭he Gospel in the context of Modern Culture鈥� was held in the Faculty of Theology and Social Sciences
The event was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of BSU and to the memory of our outstanding countryman, Theologian, Metropolitan of Moscow and Kolomna Macarius (Bulgakov). The Head of Philosophy and Theology Department Tamara I. Lipich opened the ceremony.
The first Vice-Rector Tatiana V. Balabanova mentioned in her speach the high scientific status of the scientific-practical conference.
Candidate of Theology, Archpriest Oleg Kobets mentioned in his speech the fact that the great role in the organization of International scientific and practical Conference belongs to the Metropolitan of Belgorod and Stary Oskol John and the Principal of the BSU Oleg Polukhin.
Associate Professor of Lipetsk State Technical University Sergey Tonkovid conveyed in his speech the greetings of the Metropolitan of Lipetsk and Zadonsk Nikon and words of gratitude in the address of Metropolitan of Belgorod and Stary Oskol John, and the Principal of the BSU Oleg Polukhin.
After the speeches the musical perfomance was prepared for the audience.
Researchers from different Russian regions and some foreign countries (USA, Poland, Venezuela, Benin) took part in the Conference. There were presented about thirty reports. The Forum was finished on 20 of May.
