The partnership is aimed at addressing key issues in the region's social, cultural, and youth policies while also attracting new talent to the area.
Belgorod National Research University has officially signed a cooperation agreement with the Belgorod City Administration. The signing ceremony was attended by BelSU Rector Evgeniya Karlovskaya, Belgorod Mayor ValentinDemidov, as well as department heads from the university and representatives from the administration.
Rector Karlovskaya emphasized that this agreement will enhance collaboration in education, event organization, and social engagement.
“The university interacts with the city administration almost daily. This partnership has developed over many years, and we felt it was time to formalize our communication through this agreement. Moving forward, we will work even more closely and effectively for the benefit of our city and its residents,” she stated.
Mayor Demidov shared her opinion, highlighting the longstanding and fruitful relationship between the city administration and BelSU. He noted that the university plays a crucial role in training top specialists for the social sector, many of whom go on to work within regional management structures.
“Our primary goal is to retain young people in the region – ensuring they receive their education here, find employment, and contribute to our collective success. We have a significant task ahead of us, supported by a comprehensive program,” Demidov commented.
The areas of cooperation outlined in the agreement include organizing a variety of events, sharing information on multicultural education, and collaborating on project implementation.
The mayor also recalled BelSU's role in facilitating a cooperation agreement between the Belgorod administration and its partner city, Dezhou, in China. He noted that Chinese partners are showing keen interest in various sectors such as industry, business, agriculture, and science. A new delegation from Dezhou is expected to visit in May 2025, with planned activities at Belgorod State University.
